Services to Senior Housing
Deposit Collections
The Outreach Department provides deposit collections at senior housing sites in Hennepin County. These collections are delivered to people who live in group residences and who cannot normally visit the library in person. Sites include senior assisted living sites, independent living apartments, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. Each site receives four different collections a year, from 30-90 items in each collection including westerns, mysteries, romances, non-fiction, bestsellers and audio-tapes. Staff and volunteers make the materials available to residents.

Bi-Folkal Kits
The Outreach Department provides Bi-Folkal Kits to those who work with seniors. Bi-Folkal kits provide captivating, informing and stimulating activities for older adults. Focusing on reminiscence, remembering and reflecting the kits can be used with any group of older adults or mixed-age groups. Each kit is designed to unlock remarkable stories, humorous anecdotes, and first-person accounts of history, experience and life.

The Kits are accessible and reservable online. They checkout for two weeks and are not renewable. Customers may also order them by calling the Outreach Secretary at 952-847-8856. The kit will be sent for pickup to the customer's local library through the library delivery service.
